Eleven Mornings: Behind Lens on Miami
Film, flat light and one parking garage. Notes from the shoot.
August 14, 2026 · Art · With Elena Vargas

We shot for eleven mornings and used four.
Elena's only condition was film, which meant nobody could check anything. The first three days produced almost nothing usable and considerably improved the fourth.
The frame most people remember — the figure at the top of a Brickell parking garage with the bay behind — was taken at 6:52 on a morning we had already decided to abandon.
